THE KITCHEN is well-equipped for chefs and family celebrations! It is fully-stocked with glassware, cutlery, wineglasses, and dishes for inside and outside celebrations - ceramic and glass can be used indoors, and melamine dishes and drinkware can safely be used on the deck.

The kitchen is equipped with:

• a full-size fridge with a large freezer and ice-maker
• a full-size stove with a glass-top range
• a dishwasher
• top-of-the line cookware, including enameled cast-iron and professional baking sheets

Phoenix Cabin has three bedrooms - one King bedroom, one Queen bedroom, and an open loft area with two Full beds and a luxury bunk bed.  Every bedroom has it's own television, and every bed has a premium mattress and ultra-soft bedding. 

The upstairs loft has a full bath with a beautiful stone-and-tile shower, and the downstairs has a full bath with a tub and shower.

The Blue Ridge mountains offer a wide range of outdoor activities, including hiking and biking trails, river recreation on the nearby New River, local ski resorts, world-class trout fishing, and so much more.

Phoenix Cabin is named for it's location on Phoenix Mountain.  From the cabin's deck, you have a beautiful view of Little Phoenix Mountain, and you can hear the burbling of Little Phoenix Creek.

According to local lore, the earliest settlers on the mountain, the Ellers, immigrated from Germany on a ship named the Phoenix.

Dogs are welcome at Phoenix Cabin!  We have an indoor dog bed, water bowls, complimentary pet-waste bags, and a 10'x10' outside pen with attached doghouse, for when your best buddy can't come to that cool restaurant with you.

High Mountain Cabin Rental Pet Policy: Well behaved dogs are welcome with a $100 pet fee per pet and must be approved by management. There is a 2 dog limit. We also require our guests to clean up after their pet’s “business” to avoid additional cleaning fees and pets are not allowed on the furniture. There is a nice metal 10x10x6 dog pen for your dog to be outside and yet be safe. Guest must sign a Pet Addendum for approval of your pet (no cats or puppies permitted)

at Phoenix Cabin with my husband and some friends this fall and it was a fabulous experience! The cabin is right in the mountains near Jefferson/West Jefferson and the location can't be beat. It was just a short jaunt to loads of restaurants, bars, and shops and with the autumn foliage at its peak it was an absolutely gorgeous drive. The cabin itself is so cozy and inviting - very clean and updated with all the amenities. We had everything we needed and were more than comfortable during our stay. I would highly recommend these accommodations to anyone wanting to explore the area! We can’t wait to come back!

Phoenix Dr Mountain is a unique, ecologically-diverse area with a few beautiful private inholdings surrounded by conservation areas.  

The mountain's size, 4700' elevation, and position in the surrounding mountains allows a perfect place for native Blue Ridge flora and fauna to flourish.

Phoenix Mountain belongs to a six-mountain chain known as the Amphibolites.  It's forests contain several federally-listed plant species, some of which are only found here!  

Additionally, the Phoenix Mountain forest provides a corridor linking the headwaters of streams on the flanks of the mountain to the North Fork of the New River, and their acquisition by conservation groups is a "win" for the health of the local riparian ecosystem.

The Nature Conservancy owns the land immediately surrounding the cabin's 10+ acres, so wildlife and nature remain undisturbed around us.

Thanks to our location on the mountain and proximity to this wildlife habitat, we've seen barred owls, deer, raccoon tracks, muskrats, and bobcat tracks at Phoenix Cabin, and the cabin's deck is a great place for birdwatching.
